Moving Forward by Giving Back
Speaking to around 400 first-year Lancaster University students in their “Professionalism in Practice” module, I discussed the lessons I’ve learned in my career journey so far. Particularly how volunteering for the BCS and Worshipful Company of Information Technologists’ has aided my personal and professional growth. I went on to touch on some core issues that software engineers can encounter when starting out, and how I’ve dealt with some of the challenges of working in industry.
